COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS

YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT TO US

At Eyes By Design we have always been committed to your safety and well-being. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made changes to our regular patient care practice. These changes are necessary in order to prioritize safety for all of our patients as well as our own health care professionals and employees. All guidelines and mandates are from public health and College of Optometry. Here are the steps that we are taking in order to provide a safe environment for appointment.

We will be pre-screening all patients that are scheduled to come in to our office for any symptoms of COVID-19

We have implemented a policy for the safety and testing of our staff members including daily screening and temperature checks. We will be maintaining physical distancing as much as possible throughout the office for staff and patients

All patients entering our office MUST wear face mask and will be asked to either use hand sanitizer or proper hand washing techniques upon entering the office

For your safety all of our staff will be wearing personal protective equipment including masks, gloves, and will be preforming frequent hand washing when interacting with patients in the office

The timing of patient visits have been adjusted in order to limit the number of people in the office at a given time

Plexiglass screens, breath shield on equipment and face shields donned by staff have been implemented to reduce the risk of aerosol transmission

Any glasses or frames that have been handled either by patient or staff will be disinfected before they are returned to the patient or to our display board

We have increased our in-office cleaning—all areas of patient traffic are regularly cleaned throughout the day; all exam rooms are cleaned between every patient encounter

We request that patients come on their own to all appointments unless absolutely necessary. Accompanying family members may be asked to wait in the waiting room or car in order to appropriately maintain physical distance

Thank you to all our patients for your trust and support during these changing times. We are happy to help you with your eyecare needs and are grateful for your co-operation with the implementation of our Covid -19 safety protocols.
