Technology
State-of-the-art computerized equipment ensures speedy, accurate diagnosis of everything from your vision prescription to your overall health.
Digital retinal imaging: A digital photo of the inside of your eye allows us to evaluate your eye health and track eye conditions over time by giving us a highly detailed, accurate visual reference that we can look back to. More about digital retinal imaging.
Digital phoropter: This is the machine we use to determine your prescription. The manual version (the one you’re probably most familiar with) requires that the doctor make objective interpretation. Our digital version provides a more exact reading for faster, hyper-accurate results.
Digital autorefractor/tonometer/keratometer: This machine does the work of three with great efficiency. It gets an approximation of your prescription and curvature of your cornea, then several readings are taken and averaged to form a prescription. No feedback is required from you during this process. This same machine switches over to measure the pressure in your eyes using gentle puff of air.
Visual field tester: This machine measures your entire scope of vision, and is used to detect glaucoma damage and other eye conditions. More about visual field testing.
